My Amazing Race Record

In Rimu Class, we have just started doing The Amazing Race, which is technically a reading project. We have to read Chapter Books. Each time we finished a book we had to write a summary about it and then record a fact about each country. I hope you enjoy my facts, please comment on this. Thanks!

My Reading "2 Diary Entries"

These are my two diary entries that I had to write for my reading as part of my ANZAC reading tasks. I also found out what a diary entry was because I wasn't really sure what it was at first. I have also explained what a diary entry is down below.

A diary entry is a record with different entries arranged by date reporting on what has happened over the course of a day.
Hope you enjoy!

Day 1

Dear Diary, Today I felt horrified and sad for all of the soldiers because of all of the gunshot wounds and broken bones. It was tough looking after them as well because every time I would look at their wounds I felt like I was going to cry.

Day 2

Dear Diary, Today
Allied forces landed on Gallipoli the 25th of April. British forces made the main landing at Cape Helles on the southern tip of Gallipoli, while the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps landed midway up the peninsula. We were sent 2 km north of our intended landing place, we came upon really determined Ottoman forces in the rugged country above the beach (soon named Anzac Cove). Unable to make any convincing advance, we ANZACS spent the next few days desperately holding onto our small beach.

Week 4 100 Word Challenge

This week's 100 Word Challenges prompt was "as the flame flickered and then went out..."
I had a few ideas for this but none of it fitted in with the prompt, so I decided to have a look at some of my friends stories for ideas.
Hope you enjoy. :)

I know what you’re thinking, weird right. I’ll start from the beginning... It was the middle of the night, suddenly I jumped, I had had a very weird nightmare, it was very detailed as well. I was so scared that I realised that I couldn’t get back to sleep, I needed some light so I leant other to my bedside table lighting all three of my beautiful smelling candles, One of them smelt like roses, and the two others smelt like lavender. Swooosh, I saw a shadow fly past my bed, I began to curl up as the flame flickered and then went out...

Edna Pengelly's Timeline

This Term I started making a timeline of one of the nurses who went to WW1 (World War 1).

'One Night'

This Week the 100 Word Challenge prompts were:

Silence   Orange    Thunder    Pyjamas    Swam

I found it really difficult to write this 100 Word Challenge because we had to include all 5 words in our story.
I look forward to seeing your comments.

One night as I was wandering home from a long day of work, I came across a cat wearing orange spotted pyjamas. I was very confused why this cat was even wearing pyjamas.

I finally reached home. As soon as I walked into the house, there was 10 seconds of silence then, ‘BANG’ out of nowhere the house started filling up with water, but it was no ordinary coloured water, it was ‘Orange’!

By the time the house was completely full of water, we all swam out the window and into the terrifying thunder and lightning storm.

I didn’t like the thought of this at all.

My TimeTable for Term 2!

This term our school are focussing on our school values. This term our value is being an Enthusiastic Learner. This means we are focussing on sticking to our timetables. This also means that we are trying to be more self managed and individual. Here is my timetable for term 2.

'Stairway to the Sky'

                                   'Stairway to the Sky'

This Term Rimu class have been participating in the 100 World Challenge. Every week there is a new topic/prompt that we have to write 100 words. I really enjoyed writing this story because it is really fun thinking of what you're going to write with that topic/prompt.

I was wandering around the fields, suddenly I heard an Elephant stomping around. I decided to follow the noise, and it took me to a place I had never been before. As I got closer the Elephant got louder. Out of nowhere the noise just stopped.

The next day I went back to the exact same place, as it was lighter outside, I saw a stairway up to the sky. I chose to walk up, as it may not have been the best choice. I was very quiet and sneaky.

After 1,000 I made it up into the sky. ( Yes, I know what you’re thinking, I counted.)

My True or False Holiday

In the first week of Term 2, Rimu class had to write a story about our holiday whether  it was True or False.
Leave your thoughts in the comments down below, and write what you think it was, True or false?

True or False?

On the first Saturday of the school holidays My dad’s side of my family drove to Rangiora to see my Nana and Pop. That day I got my birthday present early because I wouldn’t see them on my birthday. After lunch we walked over the road to the Rangiora park to go on the Go-Kart.
All the Grandkids got to have a go, Gus got the longest because he was the oldest, my cousin Macie had not as long which she was grumpy about.

At the end when it was my cousin Nico’s turn he went too fast and flipped it over and he got crushed……. sort of!
We walked back to my Nana and Pop’s house and then we all had an ice-cream.

Macie and I walked into the spare bedroom and she went on her Ipad and I went on my Iphone, we both decided to make ‘Musical.ly’s’ which are videos of yourself lip syncing to songs… sort of, if you know what I mean.

After about an hour of doing that sadly I had to leave.

So that was my Holiday.

Do you think it was True or False?
